Microscreed flooring experts Resin Flooring North East Ltd have installed a bespoke decorative microscreed flooring system at a residential property in Eddison Walk Adel Leeds West Yorkshire after a disasterous attempt by the homeowner to install a polished concrete floor during a refurbishment project at the property.
The defective polished concrete floor was prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the new Solacir microscreed flooring system. Cracks in the defective substrate were then cut out using dust free diamond tooling. The prepared floor surface was then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris.
Epoxy primer was then applied to the carefully prepared concrete substrate encapsulating the surface then fully blinded with Solacir dried aggregate and left to cure. The excess aggregate was then removed by vacuum and the cracks filled with a high strength epoxy knife filler.
The microscreed flooring system was then applied to the primed substrate in the colour 2% stone. The finished floor was then left to dry out overnight. Two coats of Solacir polyurethane matt sealer were then applied to the finished floor surface.
Once the matt polyurethane sealer had cured two coats of Solacir wax were then applied to the finished floor surface to complete the operation.
