Anti static industrial resin floor screeds and coatings North East

Anti static industrial flooring experts Resin Flooring North East Ltd have completed phase two of this project and installed 400m2 of seamless anti static epoxy resin flooring at the state of the art automotive safety equiptment manufacturing facility of TRW in Peterlee County Durham.

The substrate in the clean room area was prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the new anti static resin flooring system and then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris. The prepared floor surface was then primed with a DPM epoxy primer.

Once the epoxy primer had cured earthing terminals were then installed adjacent to steel columns. A grid was then formed using copper taped fixed across the primed substrate to form a circuit and then connected to the earthing terminals.

The area including the copper tapes were then encapsulated with a conductive layer of anti static epoxy primer which contains carbon fibres which was then allowed to cure overnight.

A flowable anti static epoxy resin floor screed was then installed at a depth of 3mm encapsulating the conductive layer in the colour Stirling Grey. The finished anti static floor surface was then tested by independent experts and accredited with full certification.
