A permeable resin bound paving system was applied to an existing concrete substrate at a property in Cairns Road, Fulwell, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear by specialist contractors Resin Flooring North East Ltd.

The concrete substrate was prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the new paving system to bond to. The concrete substrate was then repaired using an epoxy resin mortar.

The repaired and prepared concrete substrate was then encapsulated with epoxy primer to seal the surface of the concrete and then broadcast with a dried quartz aggregate

Once the epoxy primer was cured 20mm aluminium edge trims were installed around the perimeters of the floor area.

The resin bound matrix of stone and uv stable polyurethane resin was then mixed in a forced action mixer and trowel applied to the prepared driveway and pathway surfaces at a depth of 20mm. The colour of aggregate chosen by our client for this project was 2mm - 5mm Autumn gold.
