Newcastle Upon Tyne concrete floor repair specialists Resin Flooring North East Ltd have repaired a precast concrete staircase with a high strength epoxy resin mortar and applied a micro screed coating transforming this structure into a bespoke staircase.

The landing of the staircase and rebate around the base were prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key. The prepared concrete surfaces were then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris An epoxy resin primer as then applied to the prepared surfaces. Once the epoxy resin primer had tacked off a high strength epoxy resin mortar was then used to form the landing and make good the rebate.

The treads and risers of the concrete staircase were then prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the micro screed concrete coating and vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris.

The prepared and repaired concrete staircase as then primed with a fast curing solvent free epoxy resin primer. Once cured the micro screed coating was applied by trowel to the primed surface.

Once the micro screed was fully dried out it was lightly sanded to remove minor irregularities then it was sealed with two coats of a clear polyurethane sealer. Two coats of wax were then applied to complete the project.
