Newcastle Upon Tyne factory flooring specialists Resin Flooring North East have installed 60m2 of epoxy resin flooring within the Agglomeration area at Proctor & Gamble research and development facility which is situated at Whitley Road in Benton, Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England.

The steel substrates were prepare by captive shotblasting prior to being installed to provide a key for the new resin flooring system. The carefully prepared steel substrates were then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris. Joints in the floor surface were filled with a fast curing polyester filler and then sanded. The carefully prepared metal substrates were then primed with an epoxy resin primer. Once the epoxy primer was cured a scratch coat of epoxy was then applied to the primed metal substrate to completely seal the surfaces.

A flexible flowable epoxy flooring system was then applied by trowel to the carefully prepared and treated substrates at a depth of 3mm in the colour Kingfisher Blue. An anti slip epoxy coating was then applied to the new epoxy floors in the colour Kingfisher Blue to complete the operation.
